WWOOF -
World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms
WWOOF
began in England in 1971 and there are now many other national WWOOF
organisations.
The Aims of WWOOF are :
- To give you first hand experience of
organic or other ecologically-sound growing methods
- To give you experience of life in the
countryside
- To help the organic movement which is
labour intensive and does not rely on artificial fertilisers,
herbicides or pesticides.
- To give people a chance to meet, talk,
learn and exchange views with others in the organic movement
- To provide you with an opportunity to learn
about life in the host country by living, and working together

Short term
voluntary work and work experience at Perry Court Farm.
At Perry Court the WWOOF idea has been taken further
with inclusion of short term volunteers, and students on work experience
also being able to benefit from the WWOOF type experience of work in
exchange for board and lodging.
This could be for anyone from a College/School on study
related training, to someone just wanting to get out of the Town for a
while and enjoy some hands on practical work.
We normally ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks as a lot of farm resources
go into training people for the different tasks involved.
